Niall started his career working for one of the largest financial advisory firms in Ireland. He gained experience advising private clients and corporates on a number of complex financial matters and soon established himself as one of the groups leading young financial advisers.

During this time, Niall became one of the few advisers in Ireland to attain the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional qualification, the hallmark of excellence in the financial planning profession.

After several years working for a large organisation, Niall decided to go on secondment to the largest bank in Ireland to broaden his knowledge and experience. He continued to help a diverse range of clients across all aspects of their financial planning and developed particular expertise in pension advice and investment planning.

As time went by, Niall felt there was a better way to deliver financial advice. One that helped people make sense of their finances without the confusing jargon or eye-watering charges. One that was approachable, reliable and accessible – not just reserved for the super-wealthy. Niall decided to launch Financial Planning Matters – a company dedicated to going ‘above and beyond’ for every client.

On a day-to-day basis, Niall advises busy professionals and their families on how to make the most of their money. His area of expertise includes retirement planning, tax mitigation, pension options and investing for the future. Outside of the office, Niall is a UEFA licenced coach and can often be found on the soccer pitch, coaching the next generation or on the golf course, losing golf balls. Alternatively, Niall enjoys spending time with family and good friends.

With over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, Sharon is an accomplished leader with a proven track record of success in operations management. With 14 years experience dedicated to improving operational efficiency, Sharon has consistently driven excellence in customer service, pushing organisations to achieving best in class 5 star ratings and fostering innovative solutions. Her expertise lies in streamlining processes to deliver outstanding outcomes, empowering teams, and exceeding client expectations.

Sharon is passionate about leading change and delivering impactful results, leveraging her deep knowledge of the industry to enhance every aspect of operational performance.

Outside of her professional life, she is a busy mum of two, who enjoys walking & live music which allows her to bring a balanced perspective to her leadership style.

Head of Marketing – Financial Planning Matters & BeatTheBank.ie

Emma is an experienced marketing leader with over 15 years’ experience across sectors including fintech, FMCG, retail, and online wagering. Having led large marketing teams in high-growth environments, she brings both strategic vision and hands-on execution to her current role as Head of Marketing for Financial Planning Matters and BeatTheBank.ie.

Emma is passionate about building brands that connect with people—whether through smart strategy, creative storytelling, or seamless customer journeys. With deep experience spanning brand development, content, digital marketing, and lifecycle communications, she has led marketing functions across a range of industries, from fast-paced tech startups to global FMCG brands. Her strength lies in bringing clarity and warmth to complex propositions, always with a focus on delivering real business impact.

Outside of work, Emma’s world revolves around her young family. A proud mum of three girls, she balances the demands of work and home life with a love for DIY, cooking, reading, and the occasional quiet cup of coffee (when she can manage it!).

Operations Manager - Financial Planning Matters

Lisa is a seasoned financial services professional with 28 years of experience, starting off in stockbroking then moving into one of Ireland’s leading insurance companies, followed by several small to large sized brokerages. 

A graduate of the University of Glasgow Business School, she began her career in Scotland and has since built a reputation as a customer-focused leader. With strong management skills, she excels in team leadership, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative work environment. Lisa also has a broad compliance focus with a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks & has built a strong track record in the industry.

Lisa holds an MA (Hons) in Management Studies with Economic & Social History, is a Qualified Financial Advisor, Retirement Planning Advisor & Compliance Officer. She also has an APA in Personal & General Insurance. 

Beyond her career, Lisa enjoys an active lifestyle, spending her free time travelling, reading and baking & decorating cakes. She also runs a Scout section, fostering teamwork & adventure for young people.

As a dedicated mum of two boys, she balances her professional & personal life with passion and commitment.

Senior Paraplanner - Financial Planning Matters

Stephen is a financial services professional based in Dublin, with over six years experience spanning client support and financial planning. Beginning his career in arrears support, Stephen spent two years working closely with clients facing financial difficulties, providing compassionate guidance and practical solutions during challenging times. This foundation built a strong appreciation for the human side of finance.

For the past four years, Stephen has worked as a paraplanner, where he supports financial advisors with comprehensive research, strategic planning, and detailed report writing. Stephen’s role bridges the gap between technical analysis and client-focused outcomes, ensuring that each recommendation is backed by insight, care, and clarity. With a strong eye for detail and a proactive mindset, Stephen takes pride in making complex financial decisions easier to understand and implement.

Outside of work, Stephen enjoys hiking scenic trails around Ireland and beyond, following the fast-paced world of Formula 1, and travelling to new destinations whenever possible. These passions bring a sense of balance and inspiration to his everyday life, fuelling a mindset of exploration, focus, and continual growth.

Certified Financial Planner - Financial Planning Matters

Fiona is a dedicated financial advisor with six years experience in the finance industry. Fiona specialises in providing personalised financial planning, investment strategies, and wealth management solutions to help clients achieve their long-term financial goals. Her focus is on building strong relationships and offering tailored advice that empowers individuals and families to make informed financial decisions.

Fiona holds a Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) designation and is currently working towards completing her Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation. This ongoing education allows Fiona to stay up to date with industry best practices and provide clients with expert guidance. Fiona is passionate about financial literacy and believes that well-informed clients are better positioned to achieve financial security and success.

Outside of work, Fiona enjoys staying active through swimming and hiking, exploring new destinations through travel, and spending quality time with family.

Andrea brings over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, having worked with leading providers such as Royal London and Zurich, as well as in both large corporate settings and smaller brokerage firms. With a strong foundation in customer service and operational support, Andrea ensures that every client interaction with BeatTheBank.ie is smooth, informed, and friendly.

A Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA), Andrea’s deep knowledge of insurance and financial products allows her to guide clients with clarity and care through their journey - from initial enquiry to policy setup and beyond. Her focus is always on making financial protection simple, efficient, and hassle-free.

Outside of work, Andrea is happiest surrounded by family and friends. Most weekends you'll find her cheering from the sidelines at her children’s sporting matches - an all-weather pitch side pro! Her down-to-earth nature and people-first mindset are at the heart of everything she does.
